Platts Pen Shop (formerly J&H Platt)

...........was a fixture in Preston city centre from the 1830's. Starting life as a printers and stationers the business gradually transformed into the modern pen boutique which until recently existed at 82 Fishergate. Unfortunately, like so many small specialist retailers, the ever increasing rent and rates bills along with the general retail doom and gloom of the last few years took their toll and, with the imminent expiry of the lease, the decision was made to close the shop.

Viv and Peter, who have owned the business since 2001, decided to use their extensive knowledge of the pen trade to develope this website. The stock has been carefully chosen to present a range of high quality writing instruments at a vast range of prices. From the cheapest Lamy Safaris right through to the top of the range Caran D'Ache Varius all the products are offered with substantial discounts from the recommended price.
